Dear Editors!

It's time for the monthly Editors' Community Newsletter!

Thank you for all your contributions and enjoy your reading :)

The Waze Communities Team

Thank you for an amazing year!

We want to share our deepest appreciation to you for making 2023 an awesome year!  Thank you for improving the Waze Map and making our roads safer.  Here's to another year of community and fun times together!

What's new on WME?

The new Closure Status lets you see the real-time status of closures and their status history for a more insightful editing experience.

WME feature roadmap update!

We shared what’s planned for the rest of 2023 and early 2024. Our focus will be on improving the user experience for new editors, while also continuing to support higher levels, with features like Suggest an edit, Log in flow improvements, Chat groups and more. See the full roadmap.

New roadshields for 34 countries!

We're excited to share that after a long wait, new roadshields and exit signs were added for 34 more countries, following your requests. Thank you so much for your patience. Read the full announcement including instructions for adding roadshields and start mapping!

Say hello to the Map Tool

After hearing your feedback and partners’ feedback, we consolidated all our mapping tools to create one easy-to-navigate Map Tool. Use Traffic View, GEP Map Tool (Parking lots and events) and Reporting Tool (‘Alerts’) all in one place. The WME will remain a standalone tool. Check it out!

Office Hours: Watch the Year End Recap

Check out the final Waze Communities Office Hours of the year! Catch a glimpse of your favorite Waze staff who came to celebrate all the accomplishments we made together in 2023.

November's meetups

Thanks to everyone who came to the LATAM Mega Meetup in Chile! Kudos to our communities in Brazil, India, Nepal, the Philippines and Spain who organized lively local meetups. Lastly, thanks to those in Colombia, Germany, US, Moldova and Ukraine who organized intimate Waze Cafes. We love seeing you come together!

Belgium and Ireland join forces

The Belgian community presented their Town Information Monitoring System (TIM) at the last EMEA Mega Meetup. To their surprise, the Irish community said they built something similar, only they collect different data! Both communities shared their systems, learned and made improvements . What a great initiative to improve Waze across countries!

US Community live at Grand Prix

The US Community has been managing live traffic at Formula 1 races across the country. In November, the Nevada community was on-site for the Las Vegas Grand Prix. An event organizer said that Waze community participation is critical, and they appreciate the support we lend!
