Map Edit Points update
In response to a top voted request, we are changing the way Map Edit Points are awarded for House Numbers. This change aims to better reflect the significance of these important edits. Learn more.
A new closure status
We introduced a new closure status called 'Finished Earlier' to address the need for explaining why some closures end sooner than planned.
Last month's meetups
EMEA Mega Meetup 2024
The community came alive in Lisbon, Portugal! 126 editors from across EMEA connected and collaborated to shape the future of Waze. Workshops and fun activities sparked fresh ideas and lasting friendships.
First Waze Cafe in Honduras
Editors in Honduras met in person for the first time! They discussed WME, Permanent Hazards and more. May this be the start of lasting friendships!
Waze Cafes and meetups were also held in Switzerland, Singapore, Paraguay and Romania.

Community achievements
Protecting wildlife in Portugal
The Portuguese community teamed up with local organizations to protect the Iberian Lynx from road accidents. Wazers are now notified when a lynx is close to the road thanks to a GPS attached to the lynx's collar, improving safety for all.
Crisis response in Baltimore
Many thanks to the US Mid-Atlantic community who responded quickly to the Baltimore bridge collapse on March 26. Their swift mapping of closures helped secure the area and steer drivers away from the hazard within 90 minutes of the event.
