Calandraca's awesome face mask was made by the Spanish Coordinator's wife, who surprised Calandraca with a box full of masks for her and her colleagues at the hospital.

Featuring Top Contributor: Calandraca from Spain

Calandraca from Spain started editing the map in 2011, when even the streets in her city weren't on the map and have since been promoted to Global Champ and Coordinator. She's also an active Localizer, Wazeopedia Editor, Mentor, Beta tester, Founder of the Spanish Crisis Task Force, and "of course", she writes in her unique style - "A map Editor" :)

Calandraca says Waze has brought many rewarding things to her life over the years:

She made many friends, she is the voice of her language - Uxía for Galician and she has helped give birth to the son of two Wazers she met at a Spanish Meetup, as an OB-GYN.

Calandraca shared that once, while on vacation in Costa Rica, she rode in a minibus, where the driver used Waze. They started talking, and when the driver, a Waze Editor himself, found out that he was driving Calandraca, he was very excited and couldn't believe it.

Calandraca's tip to new editors is to respect previous edits and keep it simple, without overloading the map.

Calandraca invites anyone to reach out to her, for anything related either to Waze or to her profession, as questions don't bother her and make her feel useful when she can help.

Calandraca would like to highlight the Spanish Community, saying it's a modest but well-structured and mature community, thanks to the work done by all the Champs. "There is harmony", she says, "and the rules are respected".

Thank you Calandraca for sharing your story with us!

Editors on the Autism spectrum

We often hear from community members around the world that our communities have helped them find empathy and friendship where they least expect it.

Omega Alpha Zeta - The ASD Editing Fraternity, is an active Discord server created by Mark, AKA mhh60, supporting community members with autism.

In their own words: "...it's not just for people with autism. Maybe you have friends or family members with autism and are familiar with the struggles, obstacles and prejudices that autistic people can face. Or maybe you're a neurotypical fan of The Good Doctor and you want to meet and interact with real-life autistic people and learn about our differing but useful abilities. This forum is open to anyone with good intentions and an open mind".

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all for being such understanding and collaborative individuals, each of you helping create a diverse and ever changing global community.

You're all invited to join this group and take part in their general and map editing discussions.
