My memory goes back to 3 years ago, when I started working on Citrix micro-service product (CPX). It was exciting to be part of this little wonder. This little wonder can be spawned in no time, takes lesser memory.
However, there was a need for some sort of container orchestration. .Container Orchestration refers to the automated arrangement, coordination, and management of software containers. If you like to hear story, use this link to understand this concept as story. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ht22ReBjno
Citrix has been actively involved in working with various industry leading orchestration solutions (Apache Mesos-Marathon, docker swarm, Kubernetes) from many years. Knowing this, my curiosity transformed to engagement!!
And a fine day in last month, Citrix hosted talks from industry leaders about Security aspect of Kubernetes container orchestration. To recap, journey started with Citrix Ingress controller(CIC) team visit to a meetup organised by this group. Let's play a small puzzle to find our colleagues in below picture :)
All of us felt that it is useful for Citrix as a whole since this is part of Citrix big-5 effort. CIC team started communication with them. We offered to host their next event in Citrix campus.
However, there was few logistic challenges in making this happen. One important one was availability of space for 150+ participants. Citrix Bangalore team gone beyond its limit to fulfil this. It was team effort from all spheres- Citrix Engineering, Citrix Training, Citrix facilities, Citrix security and more..... For the first time, Citrix Bangalore has hosted large capacity open community meeting. Kudos to all of us for being in such supportive environment.
Citrix engineering team across various groups, PM team attended this event. Moreover, Citrix employees of various roles attended (Architects, Directors, people manager, core developers, marketing) the event. It was great to see all smiling curious faces. Please have a look of https://photos.app.goo.gl/FdWnkNeSbcz9PkrX9 for more pics.
Total 21 attendance recorded from within Citrix. It was twice more than expected attendance. Some of them couldn't stop themselves from attending even though they missed to register for the event. Kudos to all those curious brains!!
For the first time, meetup group offered live remote view of this meetup to its audiences. For those, who couldn’t join this session, this recording is available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBUuBJuhG0Q . Please go thro’ whenever you can. You can scroll the video as per your interest as there were 4 topics (mentioned below) covered in sequence. These topics are also listed at meetup site
