別名 : 鴣雕、鴣鳥、中斑、花斑鳩

習性:珠頸斑鳩的主食是果實、穀物和其他植物的種子，也會捕食昆蟲。主要在地面上覓食。有水時也會喝水，他們喝水的方式是俯身吸水，與其他鳥類不同。如果地點許可，它們也會用水清洗身體。它們是典型的陸生鳥類，一般在草地和農田中覓食。

Habits: The staple food of the pearl-necked turtledove is the seeds of fruits, grains, and other plants, and it also preys on insects. Foraging mainly on the ground. They also drink water when there is water. The way they drink water is to lean over and absorb water, unlike other birds. If the location permits, they will also wash their bodies with water. They are typical terrestrial birds, generally foraging in grasslands and farmland.

全年都會繁殖，常能在樹木、建築物的邊沿甚至是地面上發現它們的巢穴。

珠頸斑鳩與同屬其他斑鳩一樣，一般不會群居，而是單獨或成對出現。它們是溫馴的鳥類，但是突然的噪聲會使它們驚起。它們的飛行姿勢與鳳頭鳩類似，著陸時尾巴會上傾。

人們常把它和鴿子混淆，但只要由顏色和喙的構造來分辨就可以簡單看出兩者的差別。

發聲時頸部的羽毛會拱起，叫聲低沉，重音靠後，類似「咕-咕-咕」、「咕-咕-咕～咕」；驅趕入侵者或保護幼鳥時會發出「咕-咕」、「咕咕咕」。
