Summer 2021

Welcome to our final newsletter of 2021.

We're writing to say a big THANK YOU for supporting events throughout the year, and to the people who helped organise activities, got matched funding from their employer, and the family businesses who supported our events.

We are grateful for every penny you help raise because without it we wouldn't have been able to put £20,000 towards the Castle and the new play ground for early years that will land this summer.

We have also funded:

  1. Expert training on cyber risks for parents from eSafe

  2. Christmas pantomimes for early years and kS1, and entertainment from Dommy B for KS2+

  3. Role play equipment for Year 1

  4. Activity blocks for nursery's playground - an investment of £3000

  5. New books for all years to celebrate diversity and gender equality

  6. The Year 6 business enterprise project and the end of year Oliver production

  7. Year 3 forest school team building

These projects all matter because they help make positive memories of school, improve learning and play facilities and help boost every child's start in life. It's why the PTA exists and why the PTA needs a new chair to continue the work...

WE ARE STILL LOOKING FOR A CHAIR TO TAKE OVER. If you interested please contact us on beaverrdfundraisers@outlook.com if you don't want the responsbility of being chair but woud like to run events please get in touch too. Development of the Juniors (see below) will need cash!!

At the bottom of this newsletter is a list of ways you can contribute to our funds when you buy from Amazon, buy name labels for uniform and shop online. Please think of us over the summer!

What have we raised? £11,500!

Our AGM in September will confirm our accounts, but in terms of income we have raised around £11,500 this year. How?

Halloween hunts around Fog Lane Park (£390) and spooky pizzas, Christmas pizza parties, the Santa fun run, Christmas cards, Keepie up challenge, Christmas raffle (£8,620), Easter egg hunt and colouring competition (£1000), Bedding plants (£450).

Second hand uniform, commisson from uniform name stamp and labels have also raised hundreds, and Amazon Smile has brought in £400 since last summer. A reminder on how to buy is at the bottom of the newsletter.

Can you run our second hand uniform sales? We need someone to open up a shed by the main entrance at the first school once a half term to sell second hand uniform and organise donations of uniform. Please get in touch if you can spare an hour every 6 weeks. It's a life line for people who have been financially effected in the last year and so good for our funds and the environment.

RECYCLE!! You can recycle uniform that's no good to pass on and any other material / clothes / shoes in the green Recycle with Michael bin at the front of the school beside the sign. We get money for the material weight.

DID YOU HAVE FUN?

Just some of the many families who threw themselves into the Santa Fun Run. £2,400 was also raised for the Community Food Bank

Theo, Jacob and Lauren relieved to have finished! They were top fundraisers with a total of £515!!

The Johnsons and puppy Humphrey in the festive groove... and smashing £340!

Ronnie, Free Runner, celebrating his success, raising £200!

Junior working party

Thank you to David How, Judy Burns, Jane Robb, Sally Stanley Jones, Bernadette Lomas, Louise and Jamie Brown, Catherine Furay, Andy Dodgson, Drew Carroll, Alasdair King, Rachel Morgan Trimmer, Louise and Tom Westcott, Yasmin Abdelmawla and Helen Rust who joined Sam and Kate to clear the Juniors woodland and put up dens. You did a PHENOMENAL job! This will extend the play provision at the school and make a huge difference to learning.

Next steps are to level the ground and put in some more permanent structures that can be used for learning. The PTA will fund the ground works initially and then alocate whatever funds we have left to the development. We expect we will need to raise more money. Thinking caps on!
