September 2020 #2

Welcome to our latest PTA newsletter with details of an allocation of £14,000 towards play equipment.

Thank you to everyone who donated a bike or Little Tykes car for nursery and reception. They have been a huge hit and helped save around £600. More good condition ride ons are welcome so if you think you can help please contact us.

In the last week, we've received another payout from Amazon. We've received £148 in total. If you've yet to start using Smile to make donations to a charity then please do - it could be a real life line when we can't run events at the moment. More details about setting up Amazon Smile below.

***NOTICE of AGM - date for the diary

Our annual general meeting will take place at 7:30pm on 4th November.

Have a happy and safe weekend! Sam, Kate, Gemma, Dawn and Tina

Funding update

We met with Mrs Hardy and the leadership team this week to discuss how the money you have raised will be spent.

Immediate priorities are the Key Stage 1 and Early Years playgrounds. Phase 1 construction will start later in the school year and we have agreed to allocate £10k to this phase.

We've agreed to spend a further £2,995 to buy a set of climbing blocks (pictured) that can be used by the nursery now, and £725 on playtime equipment like skipping ropes and hoops, space hoppers, giant jenga and stilts for all KS1 and KS2 children.

Attention for spending will then turn to two areas of focus - providing experiences like the Spanish day we funded in the last academic year and the woodland area at the back of the juniors. This space is yet to be developed. It will take a working party to clear it before it can be put to use. When things have settled down we'll be in touch with details on volunteer days.

Do you have a pallet or unwanted decking boards left over from building work? The nursery would be happy to take them off your hands to turn into a den. This will be built by caretaker Gaz. Here's a picture of one he made earlier! Please email the admin team / Miss Silva at the first school with offers.

Do you have a pick up, van or trailer that can help transport offers? Please let the school know!

Second hand uniform

Thanks to everyone who made a purchase. We have raised £160 and helped save uniform from landfill. If you made an order in the last two weeks you will have received an email about collection (check junk).

Dresses / trousers /skirts/ shorts £1.50, T-shirts £1 and jumpers/cardigans are £2. Some very good condition items have been donated so it's a great way to save money and support the school.

You can still buy but orders will be processed once a week. If you need it quickly email beaverrdfundraisers@outlook.com

You need an account to purchase (see links to the left or below for details).

Unless we've already agreed it, we're not taking any more uniform, simply because Sam has run out of room in her house! We'll run another collection after half term.

PS any poor condition uniform or clothing you no longer want can be put in the large green 'Recycyle with Michael' donation box at the front of the school. We get a donation each time it's filled up.

FOR SALE

We're selling some chairs that are no longer needed by the school. Check out our Facebook page or contact us for details, £15 each. We have 12 chairs, and one stool. We'll consider offers, especially for more than one purchase. They stack and have a lovely retro feel about them. Perfect for a playroom.

Blue metal frame and ply seat.
