Easter 2022

Hello! Welcome to the first update of 2022 with news of our spring and Easter events.

We’ll kick off with some very exciting news. Fundraising last term, and the generous matched funding from Barclays, Bisous Bisous and Peak Air Conditioning has helped us raise enough funds to cover £16,000 of the £21,000 junior slide and woodland project costs.

We’re confident we can make up the shortfall with events this term and next, so the school has now placed an order for the slide. It is being manufactured especially, so we’ll update you on progress and delivery as soon as we can.

** SAVE THE DATE**

We’ve got lots of events planned until the end of the year. Here are some dates for March and April:

Pumpkin and sunflower seeds sale 15th & 31st March, 1st & 22nd April - see below

Movie night take two! 28th April - see below

***Didsbury Festival, 11 June - we’ll take part in the parade and subject to volunteers, will run a stall.

Committee update - Gemma Martin has decided to step down from the committee. We'd like to thank Gemma for her dedication and hard work over the last 4 years. You'll be missed!

Artist impression of the slide. Funds needed cover ground work, the slide, construction and erecting a large teepee for outdoor learning.

Movie Nights - take two!

The postponed Movie night will happen on 28th April - 3:15 until 5:15 at the Juniors and 3:30 to 5:30 at the first school. We'll draw up a shortlist of films the children can vote on to decide which one is shown. If you have ideas, send them in - they need a run time of around 1hour 45 minutes.

If you bought a ticket for the Christmas event then it is still valid and we'll put your child's name on to the list (unless you tell us otherwise). We'll open up ticket sales for year 1-6 before Easter. We'll send an update when it's live. Tickets are £3 (with a pay it forward option of £5) and will include a treat. There is no limit on sales, so if your child wants to come there is space.

We'll issue specific arrangements for the nights after Easter.

Reception and Nursery children often feel overwhelmed by movie nights so we'll plan an exclusive movie afternoon for them - stay tuned!

CAN YOU VOLUNTEER AT THE EVENT? We will need vounteers to settle the children and help them during the show. Email beaverrdfundraisers@outlook.com if you can help.

Can you grow a prize pumpkin or the tallest sunflower? Let’s find out!

On March 25th, 1st and 22nd April, swing by gardening club at the first school (8am on the field by the Year 3 / Ventnor Road entrance) where we will be selling seeds to grow pumpkins and sunflowers.

For £2 you’ll receive enough seeds and pots to get started and we'll give you full instructions on what to do. In the summer we’ll announce who has won the prize for tallest sunflower and we’ll celebrate Halloween with the biggest pumpkins.

If you can’t make Fridays, we’ll be outside the canteen at drop off on 31st March at the first school, and at pick up at the juniors, or email us to arrange collection. Please bring the right money if you can. We’ll try to take card payments too.

More info about the competition and gardening club is here - thanks to Bernadette Lomas for organising these competitions.

Take part in our colouring competition and win an Easter Egg!

Mrs Horan has launched a colouring competition for everyone to take part in. You can be as imaginative as you like and use everything from collage to pencils to paint effects to decorate your egg. If you don't have a printer, then ask your teacher or Mrs Horan to print off the design for you. Mrs Reeves will pick a winner in each year group. Winners will receive a Cadbury’s chocolate egg!

Give your entry to your teacher or the office with £1 payable in cash or by Parent Pay (from Monday) by the end of the day on 29th March. Make sure your name and class is on the BACK as the entries will be judged blind.

There are lots of designs to choose from. It's £1 per design. DOWNLOAD THE DESIGNS HERE
