November #1

We have some MASSIVE fundraising updates in this newsletter and a look ahead to Christmas including our non-uniform day NEXT FRIDAY 15th November. We've also managed to get an Aldi application in for the Kit for Schools programme - thanks for your stickers!

It's all so exciting at the moment, so without further ado let's reveal the numbers!

OUR GLOOOW DISCO RAISES £1993.55

The disco has made just shy of £2000! Woohoo! Wasn't that the best way to raise money? Huge thanks to Gareth our DJ, Mrs Hardy and Mrs Smith for doing the catering and everyone who volunteered - even when they hadn't planned to! Thanks to all of you for coming and helping us make the night so special. We had a blast!

The CO-OP total is in and it's a whopping

£3,521.05

We couldn't believe it either! We received a booster from the Co-Op in the final days and we absolutely smashed the target. We couldn't have done it without you and and of course, massive thanks to our predecessors Lisa and Claire for setting the fund up in the first place.

This money will be spent directly on the first school play facilities, under the terms of the Co-Op's Local Causes initiative. We'll meet with the school to agree how it's spent and when the children will see the benefit.

Neil Barrett Photo bookings raise £540. Bookings & vouchers still possible...

Thank you if you are one of the families that donated £20 in return for a £120 photo package with Neil Barrett Photography. We're delighted you supported us. You can still take advantage of the offer for a portrait, however we can no longer guarantee delivery of a photo by Christmas. You can also buy vouhcers for £20 and it will be sent immediatley. An ideal Christmas gift for that hard to buy relative, or a way to bank a photoshoot for yourself next year.

Contact us if you need a form, otherwise please drop yours with the money into an office by the end of next week. Next Friday 15th will be the final date to drop off.

What does this do to the total? It now stands at....

£8,541

We're well on our way to buying a new AV system for the Juniors, more outside play equipment and books.

How did we do it? Second hand uniform, Stamptastic commission, Co-Op, Photo offer, movie night, disco and the PJK sponsorship of £1000.

Christmas Fair, 29 November, first school, doors open 3:30, free entry!

Our Christmas fair is on 29th November. It's our biggest fundraiser of the year and needs around 100 volunteers to make it happen. You can find out how you can get involved either by coming to our meetings or by looking online at the stalls you can help run, and jobs you can do at home in the run up here. Next week we'll provide the full run down of what's happening when.

Look out for raffle tickets in book bags soon. YOU COULD WIN £100 CASH THANKS TO PHILIP JAMES KENNEDY and a whole host of other prizes from Bisous Bisous, Pasha, Giddy Goat Toys, Twizabelle's Treasures, Stamptastic, Burton Road Brewery, Healthy Spirit, Bud Garden Centre, Flourish, Brandon May, Junior Sport Stars, Nuffield Health, Kjole, Neil Barrett Photography, Axons, Cheese Hamlet, Gusto, Mary's Hairdressing, Food Sorcery and more! Full details next week.

TIP: You need to send us the left hand part of the ticket with your details clearly completed and money to the office by December 2nd. You keep the right hand part of the ticket. The draw is December 3rd.

Join our Christmas planning committee! If you want to get involved but can't make meetings just drop us a line and we'll find a way to include you!

Next Friday 15th we'll be organising the non-uniform donations by ticketing the bottles and chocolate ready for the bolas. Please join us for coffee if you can help us get this big job completed! Alternatively, if you can collect the donations from the Junior school and bring them to the first school that day we'd be very grateful - sign up on the volunteer list on PTA Social or drop us a line.

Non-uniform day FRIDAY 15th November - what to bring....

To help us prepare the activities at the fair we're running a non-uniform day. Please bring along these items to drop off on the day:

Yr 2, 3 & 4 - chocolate boxes, chocolate oranges, gold coins, biscuit selection boxes, bags of mini treats for the chocolatebola and prizes

Give when you shop over Black Friday and Christmas

Don't forget if you are starting the Christmas shopping early this Black Friday (November 29th) that you can donate to us with The Giving Machine and Amazon.

It's easy to set up just go to:

  • www.TheGivingMachine.co.uk and select the company you want to buy from, making sure you have nominated Beaver Road PTA as your charity first,
  • and use www.smile.amazon.co.uk to set us up as your nominated Amazon charity and then start your shopping. You need to use smile.amazon.co.uk every time you shop on Amazon for us to benefit as going to amazon.co.uk won't record a donation.

Please tell your friends and family about these great ways for us to raise cash.
