September #2

Welcome to this week's newsletter, which include details of our movie night and a special photography offer.

Please keep using your Co-Op cards when you check out. In the last two weeks our total has jumped to £1,797.67 so we really do have a chance to hit £2,000 by the end of October when we will cease to be a nominated charity.

If you have second-hand uniform to donate then please drop it off at our Friday coffee mornings where we have it on sale every week, or email us and we can meet you at drop off / pick up to collect it.

If you can afford it please make a one off donation of £2, £5, £10 (or more) to our AV appeal for the Junior school. It's easy to do by card or Paypal and every penny will count. Seven people have already helped us raise £135. It's fantastic to see our fundraising get off the ground and we hope others will be encouraged by their generosity.

Finally, don't forget to follow us on social media for regular updates. Details at the end of the newsletter.

Have a great weekend! Nia, Sam, Kate, Gemma and Dawn

ps you may hear the children talk about doing a Christmas design - it's part of our annual Christmas card, tag, tea towel and mug fundraising. We've started the process early this year... More details on that nearer to half term.

Movie Night is coming....

When? October 11th, 5pm drop off. Film starts 5:15 prompt

Who can come? This is for Reception to Yr 6. Nursery children are just a little too young for this event.

Where? At the First school. Junior children will enter by the reception doors on the Nursery playground and will head to the music room. First school enter through the main office door and the Yr1 drop off at the front of the school, and will head to the gym hall.

How much? £4 including pop corn and a small chocolate snack. Children need to bring a cushion and a filled water bottle. PLEASE don't send your child with other food in case of allergies, and especially not chewing gum!

What film? We don't know yet! The children will vote on their favourite in class. We've suggested a mix of U and PG rated films.

When does it finish? Pick up is 7pm. You'll need to come in the door you dropped off at and we will then pair you with your child/ren.

Where do I get a ticket? Here - we've sold 50 already so get your skates on! You can find steps on how to set up your account in our last newsletter.

Can I help? YES YOU CAN! Please do volunteer if you can. You can sign up when you buy tickets. Thanks to those who have already.

IMPORTANT NOTICE if the film choice is a PG then you agree to your child watching it when you buy a ticket. If someone else is collecting your child you need to tell us. If your child is at after school club please make us aware when you complete the child name and class info box in the ticket check out process. We can then arrange for them to join us at 5pm.

**Special offer with Neil Barrett Photography**

Book now to guarantee Christmas delivery!

Next week, you'll receive an envelope with details of a special fundraising offer from local photographer Neil Barrett. It's a chance that only comes around every few years so we'd really like to make the most of it!

Neil Barrett is an award winning portrait photographer and he's offering a family portrait session worth £120 for every parent or carer that makes a £20 donation to the PTA. You'll receive a complimentary framed photo from your session, and if you book before October 31st you are guaranteed to receive your print before Christmas.

We think it's an ideal way to create a special Christmas gift, or way to mark an event like the arrival of a new baby. You can also buy vouchers to give as gifts. See packs for more details.

The sooner you return your form and monies to your school office the sooner we can put the studio in touch with you to book your shoot! We think this is a brilliant way to raise money for the school and create family memories at the same time. We hope you agree!

"I used it when I got my latest book club book"..... "I bought all the supplies for our new guinea pig"......"It's how I did my party bags"...

OUR CHRISTMAS RAFFLE NEEDS YOU!

Help us raise £2,000!

We've started our search for raffle prizes to make this year's Christmas raffle the best ever. We hope to make beat last year's total of £1,700.

Do you run a business that can donate a prize? Last year our top prize was £100 donated by solicitor Hargeaves Gilman, and this summer it was a Lenovo Chromebook donated by Claro Software. Can you offer something as exciting? Or do you use a local business like a hairdresser, beautician, gym, or restaurant that would like some free advertising? Please get in touch! We're really lucky to have so many parents that get involved with this so thank you in advance for your generosity and support.

Here's the summer raffle prize list so you can see what makes a good prize and how many are provided by the great local businesses run and used by parents.
