Minutes from the AGM are here We welcomed Lauren Fulton to the committee as Treasurer. Kate and Sam remain in post as co-chair until a successor is found. We confirmed we raised almost £18,000 last academic year despite the upheaval. Money is being allocated to playgrounds and immediate needs of playtime equipment and books.

Thanks for supporting the food bank appeal. It was overwhelming to see the donations and much appreciated.

A reminder you can still buy second hand uniform but we're not accepting stock at the mo as we've run out of room!

Please remember to nominate us as your charity on Amazon Smile and The Giving Machine when you buy stuff and Terracycle when you recycle things, and use special codes on Stamptastic (use code M206SX) and Stikins (code 1542) when you buy name labels.

<<<<NOW FOR SOME FUN STUFF>>>>

Next week we'll be telling you all about our Christmas party plans and raffle. It's going to be EPIC! In the meantime, here's a family Santa Fun Run challenge to give you something to aim for in lockdown. We've also organised a book sale to help boost school books. Read on for details!

p.s. Can you help with prizes for the kids such as a small box of lego, a story book, or game? If your company wants to contribute a raffle prize there's still time. Contact beaverrdfundraisers@outlook.com

INTRODUCING OUR SANTA FUN RUN!

Now in our second lockdown we're acutely aware that some people will be finding things hard at the moment, both within our school community and outside.

That's why we are launching our Santa fun run appeal to help others in need. We hope it will give people a fitness target, keep minds healthy and provide family fun while raising money for the school playgrounds and the Didsbury Dear Neighbours Christmas food and toy appeal.

What's the challenge?

It's simple:

  1. you decide how far you want to run, walk or bike:

  1. Set up a sponsorship page at Just Giving and nominate Beaver Road PTA as your charity. A target of £50 sounds about right but if you want a challenge then go for £100!

  2. Share the link with friends and family so they can sponsor you.

  3. Pick a date when the weather is good, get dressed in your best Christmas gear and use your exercise* time to go out and have some fun completing your challenge!

We'll see your totals come in and we'll use half for playgrounds and donate the other half to the appeal. Please try and complete your challenge and get as much sponsorship in by 2nd December. This gives us time to transfer funds to the appeal so they know how much they have to allocate to buying food and toys.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THIS IMPORTANT APPEAL. HAVE FUN, STAY SAFE

*Follow the rules: Outdoor exercise and recreation encouraged but only with your household/bubble, on your own or with one other person from a different household

Get your Santa hat!

The first 75 people to email us with a pledge to take part will receive Santa hats for their family to wear on their challenge. Please include in your email how many hats you'll need and a child's class to get them to: beaverrdfundraisers@outlook.com

Share your success!

Tag us on Facebook or Twitter @BeaverRoad_PTA

...and share with your teacher on Seesaw / Tapestry

CAN YOUR COMPANY MATCH FUND YOUR SPONSORED RUN? Lots of companies will match the money employees raise for charity. If every £50 raised could be turned into £100 we'd be able to boost our playground fund significantly. Talk to us if you're unsure or need help - more info is here

10% off books with Telling Tales, with extra books for school

On the weekend of November 20th-22nd you can join an online book sale run by Telling Tales and organised by reception parent Laura Stewart. Telling Tales is an online independent bookstore that aims to make inclusive children's books accessible. The books are listed by personality type rather than age e.g. sensitive children, little learners etc. and they aim to ensure that all children are represented. The idea is that every child can find a book with characters like them in it.

You can get 10% off and for every three books you buy, school will receive one. There are hundreds of great titles so get stuck in for some early Christmas present purchases!
