Christmas raises £6,620

Thank you to everyone who has supported our pizza party. Today we can reveal that the pizza party, raffle, half the fun run sponsorship, Christmas cards and the Keepie Up challenge raised a massive....

£6,620!

With matched funding from Barclays, thanks to parents Natalie Strange and Tony Meredith who ran the raffle for us this year, we hope this number to turn into....

£8,620!

Our winners are all listed below.

Huge thanks to everyone who has donated prizes for the raffle and the children to win, Becca Wakelam for providing all the Manchester United jumpers and Philip James Kennedy for providing sponsporship. In total around 170 prizes were delivered to classes today.

Thanks also to our fun runners - the Dear Neighbours appeal is over the moon to have received a donation of £2,421.50.

This is the last time we will organise a PTA event. After two years it's time for Kate and I to depart as Chair. Our search continues for someone to take over. So if you had fun and want to see the PTA survive then please get in touch. Given how things are it's probably the perfect time to become Chair, start slowly and find your feet. We have everything you need to be a success and will help you get started. You might decide it's not worth running events at the moment and instead apply for grants (one PTA raised £200,000 this way in lockdown), or you might decide just to run a Summer and Christmas fair. It's entirely up to you how much you do, and you can always share the role with a friend. Of course, the more the PTA can raise the more opportunities and resources we give our children, the better the outside play and learning spaces can be, and the sooner they can be built. If you are interested or want to know more about the role email beaverrdfundraisers@outlook.com

Over the past two years we have raised £40,000 running fun events and celebrating the diverse community at Beaver Road. Money has been used to buy audio visual equipment at the juniors, books, playground equipment and sports kit, this year's Christmas entertainment provided by outside theatre companies, parent e-safety courses, SENCO and art equipment and so much more. We've also allocated large sums to the playground developments due to happen next year. We'll remain custodians of the funds until someone can take over.

THANK YOU for supporting our efforts and making our time so special. Best wishes for Christmas, Sam & Kate

ps there are lots of ways you can raise money for the PTA when you shop - details at the end of the newsletter!

Pizzas and cookie kits!

Don't foget to bring a large bag to pick up so you can carry the kits home and keep them flat. If you've organised a class zoom then have a super time.

Inside your kit will be baking instructions. Here are some photos to help too.

If you have ordered a pizza kit for 1 person (specially produced for us) then it will have instructions for 2 people - like share the sauce between the two bases - obviously you don't need to do that!

A top tip - the cookie dough can be cut in half to make double the number!

*****It's up to individual classes to set up Zoom parties (use a waiting room so you can see who joins). Please consider including all children regardless of whether they have a pack or not. Class 3M is just running one for 40 minutes so they can eat together - it can be that simple.

**recycle.... Excluding the sauce pot, everything in your kits can be recycled in the paper or compost bin. The delivery bag was used to prevent tampering, you can re-use this to send parcels.

Keepie up winners!

Here's the video you've been waiting for. How many keepie ups with a Christmas pudding did Mr Knowles do? The answer is...
