October half term 2021

Hello!

Our Halloween trail, sponsored by Bisous Bisous, is off to a spooktacular start with quite a few of you sending us correct answers! Thanks to your donations so far we have already bought a full set of a wakatubes and a couple of ukeleles! The money Dough Re Me will donate to us when you buy special spooky pizza packs will also go towards the instrument fund.

***Christmas card deadline is 5th November***. Please contact us or your teacher if you don't have a form.

Second hand uniform. We are now ready to accept donations of good quality clean uniform. Email beaverrdfundraisers@outlook.com to arrange drop off. If you want to buy uniform then please contact us and we can arrange to meet you at a convenient time to check our stores. Huge thanks to Catherine Furay for managing this for us.

LOST PROPERTY is getting a bit out of hand and anything that isn't collected/named will be donated to the uniform sales. Don't forget we get money when you buy no sew name labels - 30 sticky labels is only £7.

We also get money when you sign up to Amazon Smile and other shopping sites. Please do sign up so we get a boost from Christmas shopping!

We are looking for volunteers to plant yew tree saplings outside the Juniors 10:30-12:30 on November 13th and 20th. This is an initiative supported by the Friends of Didsbury Park to plant green screens to help manage pollution. This will be an adults only event due to the proximity to the road, helpful if you have a spade, and we recommend you wear sturdy gloves and boots. Email beaverrdfundraisers@outlook.com if you can help.

Have a great half term!

PS Zoom details for the AGM on 1st November will be issued on the day. Please contact us if you are going to stand for Chair so we can prepare the meeting accordingly.

Join our spooktacular goings on this half term and help us raise money for musical instruments!

We're running a Halloween trail around the village on the roads close to school. Simply find the 8 letters we've hidden in windows and use them to the make a spooky word. Send your code word to us and we'll enter you into a draw to win a celebration cake and a box of 5 macarons from Bisous Bisous (voucher valid until end December). It's £3 suggested donation via our JustGiving page or scan the QR code on posters. After making a donation, check your receipt where you'll find the link to the trail map.

Show your receipt at Bisous Bisous on Wilmslow Road between 16th-31st October and you'll receive a free croissant, pain au chocolat or macaron for every hot drink purchased.

We hope to raise at least £1000 to put towards instruments such as ukeleles and more unusual but brilliant instruments like wakatubes. So please share this with friends and on neighbourhood WhatsApp groups.

CAN YOUR COMPANY MATCH FUND THIS ACTIVITY? Please get in touch if you can help beaverrdfundraisers@outlook.com

Create your Christmas design and order by 5th November!

By now, you should have received a form to make and order your Christmas card design. If you haven't please speak to your class teacher to get a copy. Here's a reminder of what to do....

How does it work? Watch our video explainer

Step 1. Create your design. We recommend doing a design on a separate piece of paper and then gluing it to the form within the margins (pictured). There are lots of ideas here

The more colourful the better. You can do paper collage, paint, drawings, use sequins, pompoms, cotton wool, buttons, goggly eyes, just make sure anything glued to your design is stuck fast.

Finally, mark the Christmas tree so it's clear which way around the design should be printed - landscape or portrait.

Step 2. Go to https://xmas.cauliflowergroup.co.uk/ to register. You'll see the boxes to input a unique code and school code (pictured). These can be found in the top left corner of the form.

Step 3. Order and pay for items. This will take you to the order page. Select the items you want to order - cards, mugs, gift wrap, gift cards and then head to the checkout and pay. You can add more than one child to your order using their unique form codes.

Step 4. Complete the name and class of your child on the form and tick the box to say you have ordered. This must be completed as names will be printed on the items so we know which ones are yours.

Step 5. Return your form to your teacher with the design securely GLUED to it. Do NOT use staples, cellotape or paperclips OR fold or crease the page as this will effect the end result when it's printed.

You must return the form to your teacher by 5th November. If you have more than one child then each child must return their individual form to their teacher so they can go into special class envelopes.

The PTA will then send away the designs to Cauliflower Cards by secure courier. When items have been printed they will be sent to school and distributed to the children to bring home in time to send for Christmas.

Thanks to Siobhan O’Leary Donkin and Gemma Martin for volunteering to run things.

A perfect and special way to tell friends and family that you are thinking of them.
