SPRING SLUMP - 2nd DISILLUSIONMENT

If you're feeling a bit blue even as the days fill with more sunlight and the weather starts to turn towards Spring - you are not alone! This time of the year is often called the "Spring Slump" as it's a time when new teachers (and veterans) can feel tired, overwhelmed, and sad.

With few extended breaks, the potential for student behaviors to arise as the temperatures do, and the mounting pressure of state testing, it's not unusual to feel like you're taking a step back and that progress is stalling. BUT. There is good news! This second phase of disillusionment is nowhere near the length or intensity of what you likely experienced back in November and December. And, you're much better equipped to handle these lows now that you've made it through the deepest ones.
