Australia

Overview:

Keep in mind that studying in Australia may mean an extended break, as the school year in Australia starts in Jan/Feb. This may mean that you apply with your final grades starting in October after you graduate. You can also start applying for a lot of programs in the Spring, but mind that the start date of the program is not before you graduate.

An example of a University Calendar for the University of Sydney. Orientation Week from February 26 to March 2nd, Semester 1 to June 30th. In July there are what are called Winter School Lectures then Semester 2 runs from July 30th to November 24th.

Universities in Australia like the Universities in Canada will often post a minimum score needed to be admitted to the University, but there are also often more specific requirements to be accepted into the program you are applying for. As an example a University may say IB 26 is the minimum but for program X you need 32 and 666 in HL's including a specific subject (more like a UK offers). Also these may be the minimums but not be the numbers that actually will get you into to the program. They take the top of who apply in any given year until they are full.

IB ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

Here a few subject finders at Australian Universities as examples to give you some ideas on Admissions Requirements. Below this there are links to help you find your perfect fit programs in across all of Australia:
