Congratulations! You have successfully completed your University Applications---now what? Over the next few weeks through this semester you should be hearing back from these Universities. Each University and University System will give you information about your next steps after you have been accepted. For the UK and the US there are some specific steps you should take. If you are going to attend a University in the US or the UK please see the respective sub pages.
Under 18?
A student who is under 18 years old may have some restrictions on bank accounts, credit cards, getting a sim card and more. Make sure that you are in contact with the school about this question if you are under 18 years old.
Checklist
In general please make sure that you have addressed all issues on the below checklist:
Please double check that all Universities you applied to are on your application account.
Please triple check that the Universities confirm that they have all of the official documents they have requested (if not please email them and CC' your counselor for follow up as needed)
Know the deadlines for accepting or turning down your offers.
IMPORTANT--verbal and written agreements to attend a University or program are seen as binding. Once you have said that you will attend a University this is where, with some possible exceptions, you will be a student next year.
Notify all Institutions where you have chosen NOT to attend.
Make a considered careful choice based on your current scores and financial status.
Please make sure that you have sent all of the financial documents if requested
Once you have made a decision please research what you need to know about
Housing
Board (food plans)
Health insurance
Visa
Finances
and.... (School and location specific)
