UK After All oFfers
Carefully look at your offers.
Which one is your first choice and what is the offer? Be careful that you are looking at the entire offer-- whole score and the HL and or other requirements. (Example 36, HL666 and a 5 in SL English, 4 in SL AA maths)
Now look at your remaining offers and choose a back up choice, were you would love to go that has scores that are significantly below the offer of your first choice. Please talk to Ms. Borgerding just to walk through your thinking before you make the choices final
Once you have made the decision you will need to let go of or "Decline" all other offers beyond 2-- go into UCAS , and on to your application account, and make one offer your "Firm" choice and one offer your "Insurance", or back up choice.
The Next few steps are directly from the UCAS website (May 2023)
I've made a mistake with my replies. Can I change them?
You may change your replies once within fourteen days of initially making them. To do this, give us a quick call with your Personal ID and one of your advisers will be able to help.
When do I need to reply? Once you’ve had decisions back from all your choices, you’ll be given a date in which you need to reply. This handy little table will also give you an idea of when you need to reply…
7. Then -- focus on your IB studying and preparation for the exams.
8. Graduate and Celebrate :-) !
9. In July, when your IB scores come out you will then need to take action again! It is critically important the the Student them selves heads this process and makes all of the phone calls etc... At this point you need to compare your offer to your final IB Results.
10. If you met your firm offer and you are excited to go then Congratulations! Now you need to contact the University and ask for confirmation and then start working on next steps.
11. If you are not happy with your results and you want to request that they look at them again, please contact Mr. Hubbuck. A few days after the results are released he will receive a full score and can talk you through if it is a smart thing to do or not-- please note that your score may go down as well as up, and with the enhanced score breakdown Mr. Hubbuck can advise if you are at risk of going down or if you are close to going up.
12. If you did not make your Firm offer then you can:
a) contact Ms. Borgerding for assistance.
b) Reach out to your first choice university and ask if they would consider taking you. This is a possibility, so it is always good to ask.
c) Look at your "Insurance offer"-- did you make this offer? If yes then you could follow the same steps as number 11 above.
d) If you did not make your offer then you should follow the same steps as number b above and ASK if they would be willing to take you.
13. Never fear! If you did not make any of your offers, and or if your scores came in much higher than expected or you just want to see what else might be possible---- I have options!
