Our class today was cancelled.

this week we covered research, to help us with our assignments
GDC talks are the same level of authoritative as TED talks, and can absolutely be used
after we'd gone over the research requirements for our games, we got stuck into working on them
it occurred to me that I may have used the wrong template for my Serious Game research document, but I soon had it clarified. I haven't made as big a mistake as I'd worried - I still need to find a reference for the medium and genre, but otherwise it's okay
