- it is better to have both Maya and Blender proficiency on resume
Krita is a free alternative to Photoshop
Placeholder vs shippable - 'just a reminder of what will really be there' vs 'the actual polished product'
- placeholders are good for testing whether the idea is good and works
When exporting an asset from Blender, use .FBX format.

We went over the basics of 3D modelling, after introducing the unit and familiarising ourselves with the Brief requirements.
We began following along to a tutorial using Autodesk Maya to create a model of an open book (see Iris Ogli 3D Artist, 2018, for more details).

Before next class:

Create a placeholder model and export as .FBX file into Unity 2021.3.6f1 (not a book - try a low-poly cauldron or witch's hat - maybe a simplified, stylized viking boat)
Add simple materials to show colour
Take screenshots
