Week 7

This week was a catchup week, so that we are up to date with the course. 

• We started off by recapping the requirements for Brief 2 

• Media activism is when the media, in whatever form it takes, is used to make a statement about a particular issue. Adbusters is a group that works against overconsumption, such as Black Friday in the US. 

• culture jamming criteria: 

  • close association with a particular image - companies can become vulnerable if that image is damaged 

  • identify the brand image 

  • carefully chip away at the image 

  • go after the big fish 

  • boycott the company
