PLO Goals

The goals of attendance in School Business Manger Summer Clinics and Best Practices were to learn about DOE systems, protocols and standard operating procedures.

Incorporate effective management and procurement strategies utilizing DOE platforms and programs in daily business practice.

PLO Learning

Through participation in FAMIS, Galaxy and SBM workshops I gained important and effective ways to manage school based procurement, purchasing and management of school based financial data.

Utilizing ShopDOE as the primary platform for school purchasing and procurement which allowed effective tracking and management of teacher and staff orders and requests.

Implementation of TEchniques

and Practices

Purchasing policy was approved and documented in 2016-2017 CSSC Staff Handbook.

To ensure that the new purchasing policy and procedures were reviewed by all staff I facilitated the purchasing section of 2016-2017 School Orientation attended by all school staff.

Policy included all staff and teachers to create purchasing request via ShopDOE program and send to SBM for review and approval by supervisor and administration.

When requesting curricula, institutional subscriptions, memberships and other items unavailable on ShopDOE staff must obtain supervisor approval before submission.

IMPACT

Through monitoring and redirecting staff to ShopDOE platform to create purchasing requests I observed am informed approach to number of items requested through increased utilization of ShopDOE

By utilizing ShopDOE platform staff members compared and noted pricing, quantity and editions and versions of books and curricula.

Conclusion

Through Utilization of ShopDOE by staff I have been able to effectively track and compare spending in curricula, instructional supplies and services

Develop staff files of purchases requests and orders for yearly comparison and budgetary projections

NExt steps

With the effective implementation of ShopDOE purchasing requests, Google Forms will be utilized to track and manage all staff requests for supplies and services that ShopDOE platform will not accommodate.
