Bio: Alison Flores began her teaching career as a 2nd grade teacher in 2008 at P.S. 134. She received her Masters in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) at Hunter College and transitioned to P.S. 314 in the Bronx where she began her journey as an ENL teacher. Alison has been involved in numerous professional development opportunities that have supported her growth in pedagogy and leadership, including the NY Teacher Leadership Summit, Teacher’s College Reading and Writing Project Speciality Groups and Summer Institutes, Generation Ready’s ELL Literacy Cohort, and the BFSC and MFSC ELL Leads PLOs. In addition, she has received honorary distinctions such as Master Teacher, Peer Collaborative Teacher, and has been published in UFT’s New York Teacher for her work with ELLs. Currently, she is back in her original school, P.S. 134 in Manhattan.
