Bio: Victoria received her New York State Dual Certification in Childhood and Special Education from New York University, and a certification in Literacy from Hunter College. Victoria has taught grades 3-5 in New York City. Victoria presented at the National Council for Social Studies in Boston (Human Rights Unit) and San Francisco (Immigration Unit). She is the recipient of the New York State Social Studies Council Bernard Cohen Award 2012 Young Professional of the Year, and New York State Social Studies Council 2015 Outstanding Social Studies Teacher Award. Victoria attends numerous professional developments. Some favorites include the Transatlantic Outreach Program (Germany), several National Endowment for the Humanities Workshops, and the Mount Vernon Teachers Institute (Washington, DC). Victoria enjoys traveling and uses her experience in order to create hands-on activities that are engaging for students. Her travels include trips to Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Italy, Iceland, China, Israel, and Mexico.
