Personal Statement: As a classroom teacher I strive to create a nurturing yet challenging environment for all students. I believe that every student is intelligent and kind at their core, arriving in the world with a unique set of strengths and difficulties. It is my job as a teacher to help them know and learn from their difficulties while enhancing their strengths. Over the past three years I have also worked as a UFT Chapter Leader and sought to improve the community of our school and support all members of the staff. I graduated from Barnard College with a degree in Anthropology and Childhood Education and went on to complete my Masters at Bank Street College.
