Our conceptual learning this term is focussed around the concept of diversity and the way in which our differences can connect us to each other. We have begun the term by looking at the ways in which diversity plays a crucial role to the different ecosystems around us. Year 7 and 8 learners will look at the science of genealogy and how different traits are passed down through cell development. We are using the Pink Shirt Day campaign as a fantastic authentic learning context to recognise and celebrate diversity in our own community and beyond. We will be using the medium of photography to capture and portray the importance of diversity in our world, so stay tuned for a chance to come and celebrate this with us all, towards the end of this term!
We are once again embroiling ourselves fully in the specialised technology programme which is being offered by Selwyn College.
Our technology sessions begin again in week one, with a reminder that learners need to wear closed toed shoes every Friday.
