Update 8

3rd June 2021

Kia ora e te whānau

Tēnā Koutou Katoa,

It's been an action-packed couple of weeks since our last update!

It was wonderful to see many of you at our Learner Led Conferences last week, and seeing our learners proudly share their learning and progress.

Next week is a short one as school will be closed for Queen's Birthday this coming Monday, 7th June. Enjoy a restful long weekend!

Ngā mihi nui,

Sarah and The Stonefields School Team

Share your ideas - Stonefields Outside Environment

Last week during our Learner Led Conferences we had many parents contribute wonderful ideas towards our outside environment masterplan. Our masterplanning process is helping us to understand what to consider and prioritise outside at Stonefields to promote play, sports, learning, and social activities for all students. Our students and staff have all been involved in the process. You can add ideas, photographs, and comments here - we would love to hear from you!

Yummy Stickers

We are looking for a new parent coordinator for the Yummy Fruit Stickers for Schools promotion. Each year schools collect stickers which can be exchanged for sports gear. This is a great opportunity to get more equipment for our learners to use in the playground and in PE.

The parent coordinator collates the stickers at the end of term 3 and sends a couple of reminders to the community during the year via the Communication Update.

If you would like to help with this please email lynnk@stonefields.school.nz.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Diane who has organised this for the last few years.

Eastern Zones Girls Football

Well done to our Yr 7/8 girls who took part in the Eastern Zones Girls Football Tournament last week. Our girls played exceptionally well giving our spectators lots to cheer about! Despite facing tough competition in our pool, our girls only lost one game to the eventual winners, Baradene. Ka rawe!

Year 7 Boys Eastern Zones Football

A massive well done to our boys coming in second at the Eastern Zones Football competition yesterday. They played seven matches on a full field and made it through to the final, after a nail-biting penalty shootout against St. Kents.
Sacred Heart College took out first place, but we couldn't be more proud of the boys and their great team performance.

Our Sports Website is your first port of call for all information about whole school sport and inter-school sports events. This is updated regularly.
