13-09-21 (Almost) Alert Level 3:
Community Update

Kia ora e te whānau,

Following this afternoon’s Government announcement, you will be aware that Auckland is moving to alert level 3 from 11.59pm tomorrow, Tuesday 21st of September, and will remain in alert level 3 for the remainder of Term 3.

Alert levels are due to be reviewed again on Monday 4th October which is the start of the School holidays.

For the majority of us this change in alert levels won’t look significantly different from the past weeks of distance learning; we will continue to design and provide learning at a distance, and please remember to trust your judgement on what will work for your child/children, your bubble and your unique situation. Those who have indicated that their child/children will be returning to school onsite during level 3 will be sent detailed information and instructions in a separate email.

2021 Surveys

2021 Learner Survey

Every year learners are asked to complete a short survey about many aspects of Stonefields School. This information is so important in helping teachers design the best possible experiences for your children, and to measure the impact of the school.

You will find an invite to the survey in your child’s gmail inbox - please open the email, click on the link, and follow the instructions on screen.

  • Typically, the teachers in years 0-2 will read the questions to the children and help them to understand what is being asked. We hope that you will be able to play a similar role.

  • If your child is in year 3 or 4, they may also require some support to complete the survey, so please feel free to help them to read and understand parts they may be unsure about.

  • In years 5-8, the children will often complete the survey independently, but if there is any uncertainty over a question, please offer any guidance you can.

Please ensure that your child completes the survey by Friday, 24th September. We appreciate your support!

2021 Community Survey

There’s still time to complete the 2021 Community Survey, too! We’ve had just over 40% of our community complete the survey so far. We value all of your feedback and always strive to get representative survey data to ensure that we are working together with all of you to continually improve outcomes for our learners. If you haven’t done so already, please take 5 minutes to complete the survey here.

Better Together | Lockdown Love

Community Kindness Shoutouts

Our Term 3 learning focus of Community has centred around the concept of ‘Better Together’. Though we didn’t anticipate that we’d be spending most of the term in lockdown, we think that this concept is just as - if not more - relevant during distance learning.

We wanted to have a bit of fun and created a spontaneous community challenge to share the aroha (love) and spread some kindness. We’ve got lots to be proud of, and who doesn’t love a kind message? ‘Community Kindness Shoutouts’ is where you can give a shoutout to anyone within our community to thank, appreciate and show what you are grateful for! Get creative - you can write your message on the pavement with chalk, make a video, or create your message with nature.

Simply capture your message to the person (or people) you want to acknowledge, then share it on our ‘Community Lockdown Love’ shoutouts padlet. We’ll also share some of the posts on our Stonefields Facebook page.
