Tēnā koutou katoa/Greetings all
Hoping everyone had the opportunity to share quality time with each other over the term break! Today, we crack back into the new term. There have been some changes to our environment that have happened over the break; line markings on the courts have been completed, the prefabs are gone and the school buildings have been washed. We’ve also had some big pots and native vine planted up the staircase which has given our environment a bit of a facelift.
Our Principal to Lead the Curriculum Advisory Group
It is our pleasure to share with you all that our principal, Sarah Martin, has been appointed as the Chair of the Ministry of Education's Curriculum Advisory Group. This newly established group provides expert advice on the direction for the curriculum work programme. We are pleased for Sarah as this role not only recognises her strengths and passion, but will allow her to have a positive influence on the national curriculum. Rest assured though that, whilst this is an important role that will require some of Sarah's time as the group convenes quarterly, the Board is more than satisfied that Sarah can carry our her role while continuing to manage our School with the support of the School Leadership team. We would like to congratulate Sarah on this well deserved appointment!
School Field
Now that the prefabs have been removed we are investigating various options for our Environment Master Plan. Our learners and community have had an active voice in this area, and we look forward to seeing an improved learning and play space for all of our learners.
