Tēnā Koutou Katoa,
It's hard to believe that the school year is almost over! With the end of year fast approaching, we've got lots of information to share with you in preparation for 2022.
In this communication update we have outlined our school structure for 2022, and shared with you our upcoming staff changes.
We'll be sending a final update for 2021 next week, and you will also receive separate email communications, where relevant, containing specific information on devices, stationery lists and the year 7 & 8 Uniform rollout; please keep an eye on your inbox!
Ngā mihi nui,
Sarah and The Stonefields School Team
Below we've outlined the school structure for 2022. We are finalising a few last pieces for the teacher placements, and will share these details with you as soon as they are finalised.
We have come to learn that change is inevitable. However, it is never easy to say goodbye to valued staff members. There are a number of changes coming up in 2022 - please click here for full details. We would like to acknowledge and thank each of these staff members for the commitment and support they have shown our learners, our parent/caregiver community and the school as a whole. I am sure you will join us in saluting and thanking each and every one of them for their significant contribution!
We warmly welcome the following member of staff to our whānau in 2022. They each bring a wide range of strengths, interests and loads of enthusiasm.

On 15 December, your child's current hub teacher will be farewelling their 2021 hub learners in a fun, online hub hui!
Then, at 10am, your child/children will virtually meet their new hub teachers for 2022. Even though we can’t all be onsite together we thought it was important for learners to know who their teachers will be, and which hub they will be in, for 2022. We have coordinated google meets for each hub - further information and login details will be shared with you via email on Monday 13th December.
On Friday 10 December you will receive a link, via email, to the pre-recorded VAC along with a padlet link. We would love for you to get involved! Dress up, pop-on your favourite hat, and capture a photo of your family enjoying the VAC. We want to fill the padlet with images of you celebrating your children's performances and achievements; please share your photos from 4-5pm. We can't wait to see you all!
We are pleased to soon share your child's end of year achievement and progress report with you. You will receive an email via SchoolTalk with the link to your child/ren's end of year achievement report on Wednesday 15th December.
As shared in October, the usual end of year reporting has been adapted and ‘slimmed down’ due to the extended lockdown. If you'd like further details on what you can expect, please click here.
Yesterday, we had another very informative presentation and this time it was led by Zelda Brown, an Educational Psychologist with the Ministry of Education and Catherine Alpe, Resource Teacher of Learning and Behaviour.
They talked about how we can notice our children’s worries and fears, and how to respond to these worries and fears. Zelda introduced the ‘Building Blocks of Emotional Resilience’ and talked us through how to use the key concepts in each building block to help develop children’s resilience.
Zelda and Catherine’s presentation and other useful resources can be accessed here.
Remember our Sports Site is your first port of call for all information about PE programmes,
inter-school sports, whole school sporting events and community based opportunities. It is updated regularly and holds specific information on what is happening with sports as we move through the different COVID Levels.
As we are fast approaching the end of the school year we ask that any borrowed school property, including Library Books, Readers and any iPads/"lockdown devices" be returned to the school as soon as possible. We are doing a full stocktake, and require any outstanding items back by Monday December 6th.
School devices (iPads) are to be returned to your child's Bubble Teacher
We have set up collection boxes outside of the office for Library Books and Readers, to enable your child to safely and easily drop off outstanding items when they are onsite.
Calling all super parents!
Hi wonderful Stonefields School community,
Are there any super duper parents/caregivers who would be interested in helping out some of the Stonefields staff to look after their little ones either during the day or in the afternoons? This role would be flexible and only during term times!
If you’re interested and would like to know more, please contact Klara Coulter via email klara.coulter@stonefields.school.nz
Leaving the school?
If your family is moving to another school that does not use ezlunch or myKindo for school payments, you need to close your account.
If you’re not sure about the new school, log in to your account, go to 'My Details' and click on the list of schools, scrolling to find your new school. Note that one family account can manage students at multiple schools.
If your new school is NOT on the list, use the 'close account' button on that screen.
You can choose to donate your balance to school (where available) or have it paid out to your nominated bank account.
Go in the draw to win!
We'd love to hear how you've found our Kindo service this year. Please take a minute to answer a short feedback form and be in the draw to win!
Be quick, entries close 5pm on Friday 10th December. Enter now!
