Stonefields School has a clear vision; a curriculum entitlement that balances both ‘what is critical to know’ and ‘what is critical to learn’ to ensure that learners thrive in a dynamic and changing world. Sound pedagogy is informed by best practice and research to ensure progress and potential for every learner. We strive for our learners to leave our School optimistic, knowledgeable and active contributors who are empowered to further their own learning.
Realising our Vision metaphorically highlights what we are aiming for. We proactively gather data to evaluate the extent to which we have been successful at realising our vision, serving our learners and delivering well for our community.
Since inception, data and evidence has been gathered to inform decision making and our strategic direction. A breadth of information has been analysed over time including surveys, achievement data, progressions, whānau voice, and a growing range of tools developed internally that has led to new insights.
We continue to inquire and consider the problems we are trying to solve and the areas we are trying to improve. More and more we have been on a journey to evaluate our impact in areas that haven’t traditionally been measured, for example childrens’ Hauora (Wellbeing), learner agency and parent engagement. This has led to prototyping new ways of collecting information and evidence that have given new insights, as a result of which we have implemented innovative new practices.
Ongoing review has underpinned our continuous improvement journey to check the extent to which we have been successful . The ‘data on a page’ is a starting point. It highlights key measures of what we believe is important so we can continue to review and evaluate how successful our school and strategic implementation are over time.
It highlights what we do well and what we aim to improve.
