Tēnā Koutou Katoa,
A warm welcome to the start of the 2021 school year. We do hope you had a fun and restful holiday. A special welcome to our new learners, whānau and staff members.
It's been wonderful to walk the school and see that the hubs are buzzing with learners pleased to be back and right into their learning!
For parents of Year 3-8 learners who are new to Chromebooks, information sessions are being facilitated to enable you to be Cyber Smart just like your children. In order for your child's device to be able to go home, parents need to attend 'Module 1'. This is an opportunity to understand how the device will be used safely and purposefully in a way that enhances learning opportunities. Please note, that if you have previously attended a Chromebook information session, there is no need to attend this event.
Module 1 Dates for Term 1
Thursday 18th February 3:30pm - 4:00pm - Virtual hangout link
Thursday 18th February 4:30pm - 5:00pm - Virtual hangout link
Friday 26th February 4:00pm - 4.30pm - Virtual hangout link
All sessions can be attended either virtually or face to face in 'Te Pou Manawa' - the auditorium in the new building.
Once your child has completed their Cyber Smart 'Kawa of Care' training and you have completed Module 1, the device will be able to go between school and home if you so desire.
For any questions, please contact Bob Miller
We sincerely value the home/school partnership and our door is always open to continue or start new conversations. If you have any feedback, questions or concerns, please contact your child/ren's Hub teachers in the first instance. Teachers are contactable via email from 7am - 7pm, Monday to Friday. We will always do our utmost best to get back to in a timely manner and have a goal of achieving a 24 hour turnaround time.
As our school has grown substantially over the years, it has become necessary to put a process in place for matters to be proactively attended to. Each area of the school has a Leader of Learning and an Associate Principal (outlined in the table below). Our intention is to grow smaller villages in our growing larger village to ensure together we build positive and constructive partnerships and relationships.
If a concern is not resolved after meeting with your child's Hub teachers then the next port of call is your child's Leader of Learning (LoL) and the next step the Associate Principal (AP)
We actively seek feedback and appreciate concerns being raised as they always provide opportunities for further learning and improvement.
It is vitally important for the school office to have the most up to date details on record.
If any of your personal details (address, contact number etc) or learner medical details have changed, please complete THIS FORM.
Our Sports Website is your first port of call for all information about whole school sport and inter-school sports events. This is updated regularly.
We love drawing on the passions and expertise of our community so if you would like to get involved with sports this year please complete the volunteer form on our website here. We are really looking forward to the Netball season this year and predicting that our numbers will continue to grow. Last year we introduced a muster day to help organise our teams and coaches and had a netball coordinator who was invaluable in overseeing the netball admin and communication.
To continue to support the growing programme we would like to establish a Netball Committee. If you are interested in volunteering for this please email Lynn.
The netball season runs during Terms 2 and 3. We are asking for expressions of interest now to help us plan our next steps. Please click here to complete the Expression of Interest form. All registrations are due by Friday 5th March.
Information about the Year 1 - 6 league and Year 7 - 8 league can be found on the Auckland Netball website. This includes dates for coaches workshops.

Stonefields School is committed to the health and safety of your child and we use a number of methods to emphasise the importance of wearing a sun hat and being SunSmart.
Hats are compulsory in Term 1 and 4 and by wearing a hat every day at school, your child will have a much lower risk of developing skin cancer in the future. One of the best things we can do to help reinforce these sun protection habits is to be a role model. By ‘walking the sun protection talk’, not only will you be protecting yourself from harmful UV radiation, but you will also be helping your child develop good sun protection habits for life.
As a school, we are committed to showing learners how to be SunSmart through our own role modelling in the school environment, to help normalise being SunSmart behaviours and to help ingrain the habit.
Likewise, your choice to role model good sun protection at home will reinforce what they are learning at school. For a child to see you demonstrate being SunSmart will encourage them to do the same when they are out and about outside of school hours.
School hats can be purchased from the office, the cost is $12.50 (EFTPOS or cash available) or alternatively online here.
School is Back – please remember to drive at a safe speed around our school.
This makes it safer for everyone, and learners love to be able to walk, scoot or ride to school!
Let’s all take the time to be kind to one another, walking to school if we can, and driving safely around schools.
