Update 3

11th March 2021

Kia ora Parents and Caregivers,

Wow, what an eventful start to the year we have had! It is hard to believe we are halfway through the first term!

What a wonderful week it has been welcoming all your children back to school. The school is abuzz with lots of excitement and laughter and we have loved seeing the learners settle straight back into school life and their learning.

Have a great rest of the week and a happy and safe weekend.

Ngā mihi nui,

Sarah and The Stonefields School Team

2021 Donation

The donations for 2021 have stayed at the same rate as last year. Your support is appreciated and helps the school on many levels.

Click here to find out how.

Traffic Safety

The suburb of Stonefields operates a naked streets policy. This means that there are limited signs and road markings indicating the parking restrictions etc. We ask everyone to please put the safety of all learners first.

Please be mindful of the signs on both Guyon Street and Vialou Lane as there are no parking zones at peak times of the school day to help ease the flow. The school has adopted a policy of travelling anti-clockwise around the school to help alleviate congestion. We ask for your support with this.

  • We encourage sustainable methods of getting to and from school. Walking, biking, scooting.

  • All learners, especially those using Guyon Street or Tihi Street entrance/exits are urged to cross at the pedestrian crossing.

  • When dropping off or collecting your child/ren, please park on the school side of the road to alleviate learners from having to cross the road and please do not stop in the middle of the road to drop off or collect your child/ren.

Sport

We would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our parents who have volunteered to support our swimming, beach safety days and sports events this term. With your help, our learners are still able to participate in all of these opportunities despite the recent disruptions. We sincerely appreciate you giving your time and energy to these.

Tamaki Softball Tournament

A huge congratulations to our Yr 5/6 and Yr 7/8 Softball Teams who participated in the recent Tamaki Softball tournament. Both teams' hard work, determination and collaboration made it a great day for all. Tau ke!

Swimming

Our Yr 3/4's have had a great time kicking off our swimming and water safety programme at CLM this week.

Here are some key things to note.

Our Year 7/8 Beach Safety days at Kohimarama Beach will now take place on the following dates:

  • Year 7 - Wednesday 17th March 9.00am - 12:30pm

  • Year 8 - Thursday 18th March 9am - 12:30pm

Our Year 5/6's are taking part in their Water Safety sessions Monday, 15th March and Tuesday, 16th March.

Learners need to bring clothes to swim in, as well as their togs on Monday. This is to help learners develop the skills for an unexpected fall into water when fully clothed.

More details for each year group can be found on our sports website.
