Weekly communication for staff

Dear colleagues,

Welcome to another very busy week in the run up to the end of term. There is certainly no slow down in schools! It has been fantastic to have parents back for in person meetings. Thank you to all who contributed to a very successful P7 transition meeting last week. I have had some very positive feedback from the parents and carers who attended. There is no doubt in my mind that the personal touch adds strength and trust to the relationships that we forge.

Today (Monday) is non-uniform day to celebrate and promote pride. Thanks to Shari and Alistair for arranging a range of activities to raise the profile of pride. It is 50 years since the first pride protest march took place in London. A special rainbow 50 pence piece has been commissioned by the Royal Mint

It will be great to welcome our P7 pupils for a three day induction on Tuesday. thanks to everyone for making their three days positive and to Claire for leading the many events in the run up to these three days. The pupils are certainly very excited and were proud to buy their blazers last week!

Tuesday evening sees the return of our prestigious Sports Awards - thanks to the Andrew for leading this and the PE team for supporting and making this happen. Former pupils Colin Gregor, Ross Murdoch and Jenna Clark are attending and will provide relatable inspiration for our young people. Congratulations to Marie-Claire who will be presented with her Scottish Rugby shirt at the event.

Wednesday sees our first Concert in two years. Thanks to Anna and the music team for pulling this together despite limited rehearsal time. The rehearsals are sounding fantastic and I am really looking forward to it. Tickets are free and I would invite and encourage you all to come along if you can.

All of these events not only contribute to the ethos of the school but also provide a highly positive feeling to our young people and their parents.

Good luck to all of our colleagues who are being interviewed on Thursday for Project Lead posts.

We finish the week with Sports Day on Friday. You are all encouraged to dress in House colours. Let's really embrace and push the House ethos. Thanks to Scott for leading the event and massive thanks in advance to everyone for their contribution to the the smooth running of the sports day.

Have a great week.

Elaine
