Testing Monitor Instruction
Unpack monitor from box. Do not go by information from the box. Sometime material are not the same manufacture and model from the box it came out of. Use the information from the physical item itself.
Assembly of monitor if necessary for testing e.g., monitor stand otherwise begin step 3.
Connect power cord or ac adapter depending on the model and type and plug into a power source such as a power outlet or a surge protector.
Connect the monitor to the testing laptop or pc with the video output.
Test every input of the monitor to ensure all input are working properly.
VGA (Video Graphics Array)
DVI (Digital Visual Interface)
HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface)
DP (DisplayPort)
Test for dead pixel by using different color scheme background but do not use black or white. The prefer color is dark orange.
Leave the monitor on for at least 5 - 10 minutes to ensure power stays on.
Check for cosmetic defects such as scratches, cracks, and blemishes. Indicate all defects. If defects are major spend to recycling.
