De-energized when power off
Procedures:
Notify all affected employees of lockout.
Move the forklift to the area for repair.
Ensure forks are on floor position.
Power off forklift. Ensure the ignition switch is in the off position and remove the key.
Disconnect power source (e.g. propane/battery depending on forklift type).
Place Lock Out Tag on steering wheel, turn in key for forklift to a manager.
Perform necessary repairs.
Once repairs are complete, notify the manager with keys to do a startup.
Startup Procedure:
Remove all tools and materials from the area.
Replace all covers
Check that all personnel are in a safe area away from hazards
Restore energy source (electrical)
Restart equipment and verify operation
Notify all affected employees of the startup.
