Material Storage and Shipping Procedure

All SkyVine ITAD Storage and Shipping personnel shall wear the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); steel toed shoes or boots and gloves or Kevlar sleeves (when handling sharp material).
Recyclable Material
Recyclable materials, including paper, cardboard and pallets shall be stored in designated areas and no special labeling or storage is required.
The following materials are also recycled: Shrink wrap.
Materials are recycled by the designated vendor when determined by the Warehouse Manager.
Non-Recyclable, Non-Hazardous Material
Non-Recyclable, Non-Hazardous waste materials include non-electronics and other materials that cannot be recycled. Examples include cardboard with glued foam, empty aerosol cans, non-reusable packaging material.
Non-Recyclable, Non-Hazardous waste materials shall be stored in designated areas and no special labeling is required.
If material is stored outside, it shall be in a covered waste contained provided by the vendor.
Material shall be picked up and processed by a solid waste vendor.
Electronic Scrap for Recovery
Electronic Scrap for recovery includes electronic and other electronics components for metals or materials recovery, such as gold, aluminum, copper and steel.
Electronic Scrap for recovery shall be labeled with the material type and weight and stored in the appropriate areas.
Scrap steel shall be inspected and be clean of circuit boards and leaded glass prior to being placed in the scrap steel container.
Universal Waste and Special Waste
Universal wastes shall be stored in the appropriate storage area and labeled in the manner as defined in the Universal Waste Handling Procedure.
Hazardous Waste
SkyVine ITAD facility is not approved or permitted to accept hazardous waste, therefore it is prohibited to ship or accept this product category. If received unknowingly the material is quarantined and the warehouse manager is notified immediately.
Every container, if not already labeled by the manufacturer, shall have a Hazardous Waste Sticker on the container/skid. Refer to specific item for additional instructions as listed below:
Flammable and other hazardous materials such as acetone, isopropyl alcohol and cleaning supplies shall be stored in the fire safe cabinet.
Painting and other building maintenance supplies shall be stored in the supply room.
Small quantities of acetone and isopropyl alcohol used for product cleaning shall be stored in the supply room.
Cleaning supplies shall be stored on the shelf and in the supply room.
Hazardous Waste Shipping
All Hazardous Wastes shall be shipped to approved vendors only.
The Operations Manager shall visually inspect that the waste to be shipped is in an approved container, properly labeled and ready for shipment.
Arrangement for shipping shall be made with the downstream vendor.
The Hazardous waste vendor shall provide a completed bill of lading and/or hazardous waste manifest and shipper form.
One copy shall be sent with the driver and the other shall be turned into the office.
Material Spills
If CRTs are broken during the storage process, follow the Broken CRT Handling Procedure.
If LCD panels or fluorescent tubes are broken during the storage process, follow the Broken Fluorescent Tube Handling Procedure.
If any other type of spill occurs during the storage process, follow the Spill Procedures in the Health and Safety Manual.
Exporting
Before any material may be exported either directly or indirectly (via Downstream), the country of export shall be confirmed to be on 6.1.4.3-F Import Export Summary List and the legality of that export shall be documented on the list.
If destination is not listed, shipment cannot be sent until documentation of legality of the export is obtained and information added to 6.1.4.3-F Import Export Summary List.
Material Tracking
Logistics personnel will track containers through changes that will include vessel change information. This will be documented on the Logistics Movement Spreadsheet.
All outbound shipment of material will be reconciled before closing out paperwork. This includes obtaining records of acceptance from intended downstream in the form of Signed BOL’s, COR’s, COD’s, or other acceptable documentation records.
