Purpose
To establish, implement and maintain a procedure to identify potential emergency situations and potential accidents that can have an impact(s) on the environment and how it will respond to them.
To establish, implement and maintain a procedure to respond to actual emergency situations and accidents and prevent or mitigate associated adverse environmental impacts, taking into account the needs of relevant interested parties (emergency services and neighbors).
Responsibility and Authority
The QEH&S Management Representative shall have the responsibility and authority to ensure conformance to the activities described in this procedure.
Procedure
The QEH&S Management Representative shall train all new employees on the Health and Safety Manual, which includes the Emergency Action and Fire Prevention Plan and Emergency Contact List per location.
The Operations Manager shall maintain records of monthly inspections of fire extinguishers and other emergency response equipment on the Monthly Facility Inspection Form.
The Operations Manager shall maintain records of outside contractor’s maintenance and inspection of fire extinguishers.
The Facility Map lists the location of spill kits, first aid kits, eye wash stations, fire extinguishers, severe weather shelter and exit routes.
SkyVine ITAD shall review the Emergency Action and Fire Prevention Plan at least once every year and, in particular, after the occurrence of accidents, emergency situations or emergency drills.
SkyVine ITAD shall test at least one emergency response procedure every year (and involve relevant interested parties as appropriate). The documentation of debriefing notes shall be recorded on the Emergency Drill Reporting Form.
