SkyVine ITAD shall not allow equipment or components to be sold or donated if contrary to commercial agreements.
When material arrives in the resale receiving area, the Resale Personnel shall, through visual inspection, determine which items are to be resold and the method of resale. All material shall be recorded in the SkyVine ITAD inventory database.
Any Reusable equipment or components which are new and in their original packaging and contain focus materials may be determined ready for resale and is considered saleable. Equipment or components which do not contain focus materials may also be considered saleable.
Any Reusable equipment or components that are not new or in original packaging and contain focus materials shall:
Be tested to ensure it the key functions are working properly as outlined below, or
Refurbished until it passes key functionally testing, or
Sold to a qualified R2 reuse/refurbish supplier, or
Sent back to the dismantling area for recycling
All Reuse & Refurbishment material must be tracked and labeled to ensure proper tracking.
Reuse & Refurbishment must be handled and packaged to ensure that the necessary regulatory authorizations are met in a manner to protect public health and the environment.
Material passing Reuse & Refurbishment shall be labeled, packaged and stored based on the method of resale.
Material containing memory devices shall be wiped or destroyed according to the Data Destruction Procedure.
TESTING GUIDELINES
Reuse & Refurbishment material shall complete key functionality testing as outlined below.
LCD Flat Screens (TVs and Monitors – for Panel Only Sales)
Inspect for visual damage of screen including scratches and gouges.
Using a high intensity flashlight, check the entire screen for hidden cracks or damages.
If “Tested Good”
Store panels upright
Package in groups to protect the screens from damage during transport
Place in Gaylord standing on ends like books on a shelf face to face.
Run “Tested Bad”
Place in Gaylord for shipment to downstream LCD processors.
Batteries (e.g., laptop and mobile phone batteries)
Plug in the power cord then turn on the device (w/battery).
Leave the unit powered on for couple minutes
Unplug the power cord and ensure that each battery is capable of recharging.
Material categories not listed above shall have key functionality testing completed, as appropriate to the type of material. The Tech Room Supervisor is responsible for determining key functionality testing.
