3.4d Share all the results in Canvas Commons

3.4e Offer expertise and support to help inform policy authors at institutional and state levels

Update from the Spring 2017 Meeting:

The Open group is focused in IC objective 3. 4:

Objective: 3.4 Support Open initiatives (open educational resources, open pedagogies)

3.4a Assure broad conceptualization through collaboration.

3.4b Demonstrate promising practices that enhance student success through Open.

and the request to foster collaboration between OER leaders and librarians .

The collaboration between OER leaders and librarian leaders at WACC was a huge success.

100% of the survey participants rated the conference as excellent.

The feedback on individual sessions was overwhelmingly positive.

The conference had five sessions from librarians.

Update from the Winter 2017 Meeting:

The eLC OER Workgroup reached out to librarian leaders to collaborate on OER outreach.  The OER Workgroup has combined with the Professional Development Workgroup to plan the 2017 Washington Annual Canvas Conference. The OER Workgroup recruited librarians to present on OER in each time block of the conference.

In the works - the eLC Workgroup will be coordinating with the Boyoung Chae to provide OER content for the new Washington OER Commons repository for sharing OER courses developed with the whole system.

The eLC OER Workgroup is coordinating with SBCTC to help spread the information, implementation, and understanding of the new OER and Low Cost code in ctcLink.

The OER workgroup has read the IC plan and created a draft deliverable for 3.4, 3.4a and 3.4b listed below

Objective: 3.4 Support Open initiatives (open educational resources, open pedagogies)

3.4a Assure broad conceptualization through collaboration.

3.4b Demonstrate promising practices that enhance student success through Open.

The Open work group is joining the Professional Development Group and the LLC to help plan the annual Washington Canvas Users Group.

The Open work group will be collaborating with librarians to hopefully get increased proposals submitted for potential presentations at the WA Canvas Users conference. Our goal is for every block of the conference to have a session on OER by a librarian.
