Objectives:
Promote a common definition of OER
Open educational resources (OER) are educational materials in any medium, digital or otherwise, that reside in the public domain or have been released under an open license that permits their free use and re-purposing by others (definition by Hewlett Foundation).

Conditions: that either

Nature: which permit their free use and re-purposing by others.
Provide resources, examples, testimonies of successful OER use.

Strategies:
OER definition.
Definition will be officially shared with IC (at the winter meeting - Feb 12) and then used on all official websites, training, and marketing.
Support the development of a common OER logo - swagable!
Stay apprised to developing Canvas Commons and how it fits with OER activities.
Schools with Beta (LCC & TCC) will report back to Boyoung and eLC with continuous progress.
Promote and market the OER training course.
11/2014 Post to the CLAMS listserv and share at the LOEL workshop to increase awareness of faculty training.
Promote & Use Boyoung's OpenWa listserv with a reminder that it ties to the eLC goals and to share out with faculty and staff.

Promote and market openwa.org - support phase 2 development and launch.
Shared Resources - develop a one pager to be added to the shared documents of eLC
Collect feedback for phase 2 development - Boyoung will draft an official request for volunteers (eLC, ATL, CLAMS, OpenWa, LLC, CCCOER) to review the openwa.org website - Boyoung & eLC workgroup will distribute and encourage participation.
