Activity Detail
Accessible State Training
Two classes - OER and Canvas Intro.
Canvas Intro is partly done, gets worked on in between other projects.
Only using materials produced by Instructure.
Intro video created locally is captioned.
Syllabus is table-free.
Home page is icon driven, but not in tables and alt attributes are set.
Appropriate heading structure on all the pages.
Nothing underlined but links, color is not the only indicator of emphasis.
Alissa is already building this into the workflow for new materials. PPTs/other materials for face-to-face training are being created accessible. Jen Whetham is creating accessible materials.
OpenWA website is being redone, accessibility review is just starting.
Action item: Review OER course for accessibility.
Create Online Training on UDL and Accessibility
Ideally, find a group to develop a set of modules on captioning, accessibility, disability culture, etc. Could be shared across campuses.
Jess has a good outline that we can build off. Shoreline has an in-house FLC on accessibility too.
Key goals
Guidance for how to get through it, why it matters.
There are a lot of materials out there; we need to filter it down.
Should be customized to elearning tools being used in the system.
