Offertory Anthem: Ev’ry time I feel the spirit, arranged by: William L. Dawson, Soloist: Dr. Tim Koch
Ev’ry time I feel the spirit moving in my heart, I will pray.
Upon the mountain my Lord spoke, out of His mouth came fire and smoke;
Looked all around me, it looked so fine, till I asked my Lord if all was mine.
Jordan river is chilly an’ cold, it shills the body but not the soul;
There ain’t but one train upon this track, it runs to heaven an’ right back.
Doxology: Hymn 380, stanza 3
Holy: S125, Proulx
Communion Anthem: My Soul, Triumphant in the Lord, arranged by: Alice Parker
My soul, triumphant in the Lord, shall tell its joys abroad,
And march with holy vigor on supported by its God.
Through all the winding maze of life His hand has been my guide;
And in that long experienced care my heart shall still confide.
His grace through all the desert flows an unexhausted stream;
That grace in Zion’s sacred mount shall be my endless theme.
Communion Meditation: Come now, almighty King, arranged by: Gerald Near

This morning’s decidedly “American” theme is a foretaste of our special musical events planned in November at Trinity Church. On Sunday, November 2nd we will present an Evensong for All Saint’s Day featuring Service in F by American Composer Harold Friedell (pronounced “Freh-DELL”). On November 7th (with a repeat concert on the 8th at Church of the Resurrection), we will present a concert of American Choral Music to benefit the Veteran’s Welcome Home and Resource Center in Little River, SC. The program for November 7th and 8th will include several arrangements by Alice Parker, who arranged today’s Communion anthem, “My Soul, Triumphant in the Lord”. She could very well be talking about this little arrangement when she said,
“I am a devotee of folk songs from many cultures, as well as the rediscovery of Christian hymns from many centuries… I never tire of composing, arranging, conducting and teaching from these ever-flowing sources.”
Happily, neither do we tire of learning your compositions and arrangements, Dr. Parker!
