Today’s prelude piece is presented by Trinity's Canterbury Bells Handbell Choir, which rehearses every Tuesday afternoon. These six faithful ringers (Chris Copeland, Ann Monckton, Donna Wiggin, Sara Webb, Carolyn Jones and Patty VonSchoppe) with occasional help from Janet Haigh, have presented music in our worship throughout the year and we are appreciative of their hard work. They will ring the next two Sundays as well, on June 8th and June 15th.

The piece that we are ringing this morning is based on a hymn with Easter Text that works well for this last Sunday of the season of Easter:

“1. Christ the Lord is risen again, Christ has broken every chain. Hark the angel voices cry, singing evermore on high.

2. He who bore all pain and loss, comfortless upon the cross lives in glory now on high, pleads for us, and hears our cry.

3. He who slumbered in the grave is exalted now to save; through the universe it rings, that the Lamb is King of Kings.

4. Now he bids us tell abroad how the lost may be restored, how the penitent forgiven, how we too may enter heaven.”
