Offertory Anthem: Followers of the Lamb by: Philip Dietterich

O brethren ain’t you happy,

O brethren ain’t you happy,

O brethren ain’t you happy, ye followers of the Lamb.

Sing on, dance on, followers of Emmanuel,

Sing on, dance on, ye followers of the Lamb.

O sisters…

O I’m glad I am a Christian,

I’m glad I am a Christian,

I’m glad I am a Christian, ye followers of the Lamb.

O I mean to be obedient,

I mean to be obedient,

I mean to be obedient, ye followers of the Lamb.

Doxology

Sanctus: S125 by: Richard Proulx

Communion Anthem: Come Let Us Sing For Joy To the Lord, by: M. Susan Brown

Come let us sing for joy to the Lord.

He is the rock of our salvation,

Come let us sing for joy to the Lord.

He is the one who holds the mountains.

He is the one who rules the earth.

He holds the ocean in His palm.

Ev’ry nation will call Him Lord.

Let’s go to Jesus with thanksgiving,

Let’s go to Jesus with our psalms.

He is the rock of our salvation.

Sing for Joy to the Lord our God.

Let us worship, bow before Him.

Kneel before the Lord our God.

We are the people of His pasture.

Shout for joy to the Lord our God.

-Psalm 95

Communion Hymn: 675 Take up your cross, the Savior Said

Recessional Hymn: 525 The Church’s one foundation

Music Notes

By: Ashley Sosis, CAGO

Many thanks today to our guest musicians, Rose Davis and Drew Trautman for leading music at today’s Eucharist. I am in Boston this week for the national convention of the American Guild of Organists, where my nametag reads “Ashley Sosis, CAGO”, which means “Colleague of the American Guild of Organists”. It is proof of certification that I usually don’t share, since the letters only hold meaning to other AGO members and the AGO serves only 20,000 people-- a smaller membership than the International Magician’s Society.

The Grand Strand chapter of the AGO hosts workshops and concerts for the general public but also for local organists, music directors and choir directors. You can read about what we have planned for next year here: http://www.agograndstrand.org/ or what AGO national is up to here: www.agohq.org . I will return next Sunday with an armful of new repertoire books and fresh ideas from a solid week of recitals, worship services and workshops. See you soon!
