Sunnyside

[ post office established 4 Nov 1885 - discontinued 19 June 1895 - moved to Harmony (in Madison County) ]

Sunnyside was located in the extreme northwest corner of Taylor County, close to the county line and the Aucille River based on early maps of the county.

Taylor County - A microcosm of frontier America, by Joe Akerman. In the article Mr. Akerman states that in 1855, settlements existed at Lake Bird, Shady Grove, Pisgah, Thomas Mill Island, Oakland, Barker Hammock, Blue Creek, Sunnyside and Carlton Springs.
