Council met this day in special session. The meeting was called for the purpose of reorganizing the Fire Department. On motion the following officers and members of the Fire Department were confirmed and their salaries fixed.

Chief, C. R. Adams - Salary 5.00 per month

Asst. Chief, B. O'Quinn - compensation 2.50 per month

Members, H. Clay Parker, W. H. Clark, L. B. Clark, L. J. Wilson, R. L. Thompson, Edgar Faulkner, Tally Griner, O. M. Willis, said members compensation were fixed at 2.50 per month

On motion the Fire Committee was empowered and ordered to install the necessary equipment for said Fire Department.

            Upon motion duly made and carried that L. E. Cobb was appointed caretaker of Fire Engine at a salary of fifty dollars a month.

            Motion made and carried that Fire Engine be accepted and President of Council and Clerk authorized to execute notes with American LaFrance Fire Engine Co. as follows:

Council went into a general discussion regarding the resignation of Water Superintendent, R. E. Stokes Jr. and after Mr. Stokes declined to withdraw resignation, motion was made that the Town regretfully accept Mr. Stokes resignation as soon as suitable replacement can be found.

 

Council moved to executive session. The following appointments were made in the

City personnel:

V. L. Folsom appointed Water Superintendent

Marshall Snyder appointed Fire Chief

Bill Cruse appointed assistant Water Superintendent
