The Advocate was combined with the Herald as the Taylor County Herald.

Dan McCormick Dead
Dan McCormick, one of the well known young men of Perry, was found dead Monday morning at his boarding house, the home of Mrs. Markee. He was ill during Sunday night and a physician was called, but he would not submit to treatment, believing he would be all right in a short time. Early Monday morning one of the boarders found him dead, the time of death not being definitely known.
He was 36 years of age, a carpenter by occupation, and one of those quiet, inoffensive, hard working men who never interfered with any business except his own.
The deceased is survived by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. McCormick, two sisters, Mrs. W. H. Etheridge of this city and Mrs. D. Cowart of near Adel, and one brother M. L. McCormick of Trilby all of whom attended the funeral Tuesday.
The body was laid to rest in the Perry cemetery Tuesday. Rev. J. A. Kirtley, pastor of the Baptist church performed the last sad rites.
Herbert Dexter, the fourteen months old son of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Stripling, said Saturday died an illness of several days. The interment was made Sunday in the Perry cemetery, and the sympathy of the entire community goes out to the parents in greater degree than usual as this is the eight little one they have lost, making their grief more poignant than the ordinary bereavement.
