[ community & school site ]  Legend has it that the McMullen settlement is not called the Dorman settlement.

Joe Carlton lived near the McMullen voting precinct house.

W. R. Carlton was a farmer and he operated farms in three areas of the county during his career: Pine Level, Sand Hill and McMullen. Interspersed with his farming, he did work for Potts Trupentine business.

Article from The Taylor County Herald, July 21, 1910 - On the first Monday in August next, the board will let contract to build school house at McMullen new school site and specifications is on file in superintendent's office for inspection to any who want to bid on same.
