Cypress Lake

[ school site ] Cypress Lake School is a two room school located on Hwy 27 above the Cypress Lake Store. Cypress Lake is southeast of Perry.

Lilla Strickland Wentworth came to Taylor County in 1921 to teach at Cypress Lake School where Alton Wentworth was also to teach. One year later she became his wife.

Grover Carlton was born and spant his entire life on a farm in the Cypress Lake community east of Perry.
