Nine-Mile Still

[ community ] Location of a sawmill and turpentine operations about nine miles southwest of Perry.

Operated by Smith & Malloy, additionally Louise Childers reported that Aycock-Lindsey also operated at Nine-mill Still. They might have bought out Smith & Malloy. Aycock & Lindsey at the peak of production had 11 stills with the one at Athena being the biggest.

J. R. Shealy was employed there.

Marion M. Wright and family had a successful farm in the area south of Waldo Springs. It was near this place that Nine-Mile Still operated a turpentine facility and afterwards a sawmill.
